| Description: | This position is in the Plant Production group. Fraunhofer – Center for Molecular Biotechnology (FhCMB) is developing technology for plant-based pharmaceutical production. The research and development efforts at the Center require the production of a variety of plants for conducting studies, in addition, research assistants need to ensure the quality of the plants by collecting plant growth data, incorporating feedback from researchers, monitoring / optimizing conditions, troubleshooting growth issues, among other duties. |
| Requirements: | A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in a scientific discipline relevant to one or more of the CMB’s current areas of study.
Well-developed communication (verbal and writing) and interpersonal skills to work effectively with the Center’s research program leaders, peers and support personnel and to share findings from experiments and other research activities.
Sound analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong planning and organizational skills.
In-depth understanding of scientific methods and laboratory techniques for conducting scientific research.
Able to use relevant software applications to assemble, manipulate and format experiment results for presentation to senior CMB researchers.
Fine motor skills for material handling as well as equipment operations.
Able to occasionally lift and carry up to 10 lbs.
